The ISMM’s annual conference Successful Selling took place last Friday at the Ricoh Arena Coventry, and the day could not have gone better for the UK’s largest Association for Sales Professionals.
Larry Winget was unquestionably the hit of the day and left the place fully charged with his straight talking insight into the economy, our personal lives and of course business. Also on the agenda was Allan Pease who again went down really well with the nation’s top sales managers, fantastic content and ideas for all.
The day started off with a keynote speech from Shadow Chancellor for Small Businesses, Toby Perkins MP, who set out his plans to increase the importance and pledged to support the under represented profession of sales. This has been a particularly good addition to the day, as many felt reassured that sales was finally getting its place at the table.
The day continued to impress with the Sales Expo proving a fantastic draw, where sales leaders were able to evaluate products and services designed to improve performance, all in one place. The delegates were also treated to an Olympic Silver Medallist in Steve Backley OBE who gave an inspiring speech on the back of our Olympic year as well as a fantastic presentation from Dome and EuroDisney turnaround guru, PY Gerbeau.
That was not to say that there was no pure sales content, contrary to it, with presentations from Andy Bounds and Grant LeBoff, the day really did have it all, and every sales professional who attended will have had not only a memorable day, but an educational and motivational day.
