Axa Assistance UK has appointed Adam Smith, as sales director to accelerate the growth of the company's large corporate partnerships business. Smith will be responsible for building new partnerships with large corporate clients across the company's motor, legal and home assistance business lines.
Prior to his new Axa Assistance role, Smith was head of intermediary accounts at Legal & General, where he was responsible for the management of the insurer's combined general insurance broker and financial intermediary distribution. He oversaw field sales operations, intermediary marketing and sales support. He was also head of IFA sales.
Before working at L&G, Smith held a number of senior sales and business development roles working across the intermediary, branch and direct distribution channels of Northern Rock. He has also held sales roles at Barclays Bank and First National Bank.

Axa Assistance stated that key areas of the business had experienced growth, and that it expects to deliver double-digit growth this year as a result of the success of its property assistance service and new excess insurance product.
