Years of dedication and training have led to a Hastings National Sales Manager winning a gold medal at the Kuk Sool Won European Championships.
Brenden O’Sullivan won the top medal for ‘breaking’ boards and was placed fourth in the sparring competition which was held in Kings Lynn. But the icing on the cake came when the father-of-one was awarded his ‘second degree’ by Kuk Sa Nim.
Brenden admits that he started the Korean martial art eight years ago after reaching 19 stone and wanting to improve his fitness. Now he fits in eight to ten hours of training each week around his busy job as National Sales Manager for Constables Mobility who convert cars to make them wheelchair accessible for customers across the UK.
He said: “I’m really pleased that all the hard work has paid off. Winning a gold and getting my second degree at the same time was absolutely amazing. Kuk Sool Won is a great sport as it’s a nice rounded combination of fitness and self defence.”
