RSA has pounced to appoint Owen Thomas as sales director within its reshaped Global Speciality Lines (GSL) division. Thomas, who joins after spending almost nine years at Aviva, will be responsible for sales across all of RSA's GSL UK property and casualty business, according to Insurance Age.
He will manage a team of broker development managers, as well as develop the company's Global Promise offering. Global relationships director, Steve Hatherall, said: "Owen has fantastic experience and a real understanding of the industry that makes him a particularly strong addition to our team.
"I look forward to working closely with Owen as we continue to focus on delivering market-leading service to our customers and brokers."
While at Aviva, Thomas played a central role in creating its corporate risk solutions business and managed a team of 17 as the division expanded to corporate and speciality risks.
Thomas added: "Now is a truly exciting time to be joining RSA with the reshaping of GSL and propositions like Global Promise I am looking forward to working with Steve and the rest of the RSA team to realise our ambitious plans for this year and beyond."
