The Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre’s (SECC) Sales Director, Ben Goedegebuure, is to become the new Chair of Glasgow’s city service initiative, according to MashMedia’s Conference News.
Glasgow Service with Style, the city’s Tourism Service Initiative is an industry-led project supported by the Glasgow Tourism Strategy Group, comprising Glasgow City Council, Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, Scottish Enterprise and VisitScotland, along with Skills Development Scotland. It is managed by VisitScotland, on behalf of industry and partners and works towards growing tourism revenue in the city by 2016.
Goedegebuure, a senior, influential figure in the Glasgow tourism industry who has worked with the SECC since 2005, joining as Director of Conferences in charge of the conference sales team, said: “Service remains an absolute priority in any hospitality business and I believe in Glasgow’s collective ability to provide a warm and professional welcome to our visitors.
