Lloyds broker Tysers has announced the appointment of former Giles Insurance Broker Sales Director John McLaren-Stewart as its new Sales & Marketing Director, according to Postonline.
McLaren-Stewart, joined Giles in February 2010, when the broker took over the risk solutions team of Brightstar, founded by McLaren-Stewart in May 2009. McLaren-Stewart previously worked at Sedgwick and Layton Blackham before starting Alliance Insurance Management, which was sold to Towergate in 2008.
David Randle, managing director of the UK corporate risks division at Tysers, said the appointment signals the broker's intention to generate growth in its chosen markets."John brings with him a clear vision of business strategy, marketing savvy and sales skills. His appointment will give a boost to our business operations in the corporate arena as we seek significant growth over the next three years," he said.
McLaren-Stewart added: "Tysers is clearly an ambitious organisation with a committed focus to expanding its corporate client base.

McLaren-Stewart has been a main board member of the British Insurance Brokers Association, an advisor to the Department of Trade and Industry, and a member of the National SME Council at the CBI
