Atlanta Technology, the server & storage virtualisation specialists, has launched a Junior Sales Academy in a bid to generate new career opportunities for graduates looking to enter the IT sales sector. The London-based managed services provider is investing in its sales environment by developing an Academy that offers determined graduates an apprenticeship-style programme that provides a six-month formal sales and marketing training programme, including working in conjunction with the existing team to gain valuable on-the-ground experience.

Atlanta’s Sales Academy is designed fast-track the development of tomorrow’s IT professionals and give graduates the opportunity to immerse themselves in the very latest technologies including virtualisation, cloud computing and disaster recovery. The Academy focuses on providing continual development and assessment, reminiscent of the apprentice system, which delivers years of sale expertise and knowledge within a six-month intensive training programme.

Simon Kelson, managing director, Atlanta Technology said: “In our view, it is imperative to bring the next generation of skilled workers to the fore and our Junior Sales Academy aims to recruit a new team member at least every six months. We are committed to investing in both our existing team and new recruits and the Academy is just one great example of this. The training and mentoring provided is second-to-none and will give recruits the skills and confidence to personally advance, in addition to supporting the continued growth of our business in the business-class cloud services sector.”

Craig Johnson is the first recruit to join the Atlanta Junior Sales Academy. Explains Craig, “I went from University into an IT support role with another firm, and while I enjoy technology I was keen to move into a more customer-facing sales role as the competitive, commission-based way of working appeals to me. Ultimately, the more you put in, the more you will get out. The Academy provides an excellent opportunity for me to develop into a key member of the sales team at Atlanta and the investment the team is making in me with their time, training and contact with an external mentor is extremely motivating.”
