Harrods have announced that their target of £1 billion of sales that they were looking to achieve by April has now been hit. The retail giant has excelled in providing the ultimate in shopping environments mixed with a fantastic brand reputation to help drive these figures forward.
A year on from Harrods launching its own sales degree, has the initiative started paying dividends already, with other major UK brands looking at the Academy approach to their sales functions, the Harrods model and success could be a key indicator of the value of investment into a sales team.
Managing Director Michael Ward isn't getting too comfortable though, "...despite this success we are by no means complacent; the future for Harrods is that we continue to raise the bar in the retail arena. Plans are already underway to bolster the beauty business in a dramatic way over the next 12 months, and the store itself is set to see even more innovation and change."
