m-hance, the leading supplier of Microsoft solutions, has announced today that it has been selected by Colleges Northern Ireland (Colleges NI), the membership body for Northern Ireland's six Colleges of Further and Higher Education, to continue to provide support for its finance and student management applications.
Signing a £1.8 million, two-year contract, Colleges NI – a long-term customer of m-hance – will continue to receive application and technical support for its financial and student record application systems, and associated hardware. The contract will also see Colleges NI’s campuses undergo a complete hardware refresh, and at the same time allow the six colleges to achieve benefits by centralising the hardware in a public sector shared services data centre.
As part of the deal, Colleges NI will also be upgraded to the Milestone 4 version of the Unit4 Agresso™ software, which will also allow the colleges to take advantage of the latest available versions of the underlying operating system and database software. Additionally, the upgrade will enable Colleges NI to complete a centralisation project that commenced five years ago, which will see the current student record system moved out of the individual colleges and installed on cloud-based centralised servers.
Commenting on the project, Gerry Campbell, CEO of Colleges NI, states: “Colleges NI is delighted to be partnering once again with m-hance in the provision of support services for the Northern Ireland Colleges Information System (NICIS). On behalf of the six regional colleges, I thank m-hance for their continued support and look forward to building on the existing relationship that has been established over recent years. m-hance has been at the forefront of supporting a number of new initiatives and improvements over the last number of years and I have no doubt that we can expect the same level of professional service over the duration of this contract.”
“The deal with Colleges NI allows us to continue a relationship with one of our most significant customers in Northern Ireland, which builds on the trust that Colleges NI has in m-hance to meet its diverse and complex technological needs”, comments Darrell Brislane, m-hance’s Business Development Manager in Ireland. “A significant aspect of this contract is that it will provide the colleges with one service provider – which means one help desk to call. m-hance will then manage the suppliers in the background – ensuring that the best service possible is delivered back to the colleges”.
Brislane also adds: “We look forward to continuing to work closely with the colleges in Northern Ireland, and ensuring a relationship that goes back over 10 years continues to help the colleges get the best out of an evolving technology landscape.”
