Ian Taylor has been appointed as the NEC's new venue sales director and will take up the role in October, according to CIT Magazine.
Taylor joins from Marketing Birmingham, where he is currently commercial director, and succeeds Stephen Richards in the role. Taylor will be responsible for the delivery of the NEC sales strategy and will report to NEC managing director Kathryn James.
Prior to Marketing Birmingham, he was commercial director at Newcastle Gateshead Initiative. He has also worked as head of Conferences & Events at Emap.
Taylor said: "In recent years, Birmingham – and the NEC Group in particular – has increasingly been in the national and international spotlight, playing host to a huge range of major events such as party political conferences, sporting championships, international association conferences and high profile global exhibitions.
