Kathleen Warden has been announced as the new Sales Director for the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC), replacing Ben Goedegebuure who left earlier this year. Warden was previously head of association sales at the SECC in Glasgow.
This follows the recent announcement that Peter Duthie will become chief executive of the SECC and Ben Goedegebuure's departure in February, who has now joined Maritz Travel.
Warden will be responsible for leading the growth and development of domestic and international, corporate and association conference business for the SECC.
Warden said: "I am delighted to be taking on the challenge of this new role. The SECC has always taken an innovative approach to the business, and is passionate about delivering quality service and facilities to our customers and ensuring we give them every support possible.
"Because of this approach, we have some amazing conferences returning year on year to the SECC. I’m keen to continue this form and grow our reputation for excellence, taking the business forward in a continually changing market that demands flexibility and adaptability."
Duthie added: "Our conference business plays a major role in the company and is a crucial part of our success. Kathleen has a huge amount of experience working with the many major conferences that come to the SECC and we’re delighted to now have her driving our total meetings portfolio."
