Jupiter Asset Management has established a sales presence north of the border for the first time after Gordon Davidson took on the role of business development director for Scotland, according to CityWire.
Davidson has moved from his previous role as joint managing director of Jupiter Unit Trust Managers. He will be based in Edinburgh in his new role.
Davidson said the Scottish market offered potential for Jupiter, pointing to its concentration of life companies and wealth management groups.
'These factors combined with increased economic activity tell us that Scotland offers great potential for a business like Jupiter, hence our decision to increase Jupiter’s local presence and client coverage. Although it is early days, our plans have been warmly received by key clients,' he said.
Davidson joined Jupiter in 1995, originally as UK sales director. Earlier in his career, he worked for Scottish Widows and Allied Hambro.
