A former digital sales director at STV has been appointed to the newly-created role of general manager of the The Scotsman’s website,scotsman.com. Kris Yule will be joining at the end of this month, reporting directly to Stuart Birkett, managing director for Johnston Press Scotland.
Birkett quoted “Johnston Press has continued to invest in building a strong digital business and Kris brings a wealth of commercial and entrepreneurial experience to this important position.
“In this new role, Kris will build upon the great success of the recently re-launched Scotsman website and help develop strategies and sales to fuel our ambitious digital growth plans across Scotland, whilst at the same time exceeding the expectations of our partner advertisers. I am looking forward to working closely with him.”
“Kris gained extensive digital and communications experience as the UK head of operations for Go Fast Sports and – after a period of six years – re-entered the media industry as digital sales manager for STV. He was later promoted to digital sales director with responsibility for all digital advertising revenue, overseeing the digital expansion of display, mobile & video advertising formats. This included the development of the Local platforms and, more recently, the launch of the new City Services.
