The Sheraton Grand hotel in Edinburgh has promoted one of its long-serving staff to be director of sales. Melissa Raffaelli originally joined the hotel in 2002 as a guest services agent in the front office and has also worked in the spa reception and event sales.
Most recently, she was assistant sales director and has also worked as an account director for Starwood Hotels promoting the Sheraton and Turnberry in Ayrshire to international markets.
Tristan Nesbitt, general manager of the Sheraton, said: "It gives me great pleasure to promote Melissa to director of sales. This is a key role particularly following the hotel's relaunch last year as the UK's flagship Sheraton following a multi-million pound refurbishment.
"We have many exciting business opportunities ahead and Melissa will play a key role in driving this business forward."
