Following consultations with the Shadow Chancellor for Small Business, Labour’s Toby Perkins MP, the first draft of the sales skills review from Toby has now been produced.

The ISMM would like to thank our members who attended the consultation at the Houses of Parliament, your input and commitment was outstanding. We’d like to further thank all the businesses and centres we work with for inviting Toby to view the fantastic work you do, again, your commitment has been of massive value.

Our view on the progress made

So far we are pleased with the progress Toby and his team have made and call on the support of all our members in backing this initiative, but there is still a long way to go.

However, the ISMM will be feeding back to his department that the conversations made at the Houses of Parliament could have produced more, that the wealth of experience in the room began to formulate more solutions rather than an initial establishment of the problem.

We look forward to wider and further consultation with a view to start putting tangible actions in place that can help raise the profile, importance and skills of the sales profession. We back this initiative wholly and again wish to thank Toby for his work so far, we look forward to backing and assisting him with the further work ahead.

Ben Turner, Sales Director
