Independent Digital has agreed a new deal with Ryanair to take on advertising sales for the airline's website, according to the Irish Independent.
This agreement is expected to offer Irish and international advertisers an "innovative opportunity" to target campaigns at, and access to, some 1.2 milllion users who visit the Ryanair.com site every day.
Independent Digital, which is part of Independent News & Media, owns and manages 18 online publishing sites, including the market-leading Independent.ie along with a number of classified and dating sites.
Independent Digital group online sales director Eileen Ruddy was "delighted" to have taken on the Ryanair business.
"We will now be in a position to offer exciting new opportunities and tailored new advertising solutions to our valued clients on the
Ryanair.com website," she said.
"We have some very interesting plans in place, some of which will incorporate the Ryanair.com inventory within the Independent Digital Network. This is a very exciting development for Independent Digital and we are looking forward to working with a brand as renowned as Ryanair.
"The unique synergy between both brands means the Independent Digital team can now offer unique propositions for our advertisers. This partnership is built on the quality of content, great value and unique engagement delivered by both online brand experiences to our consumers, in addition to the market penetration and extent of reach Independent Digital now has across both market audiences," Ms Ruddy added.
Ryanair's director of commercial revenue Garry Walsh meanwhile pointed to the "enormous marketing opportunity for prospective advertisers".
"We are pleased to announce this partnership with Independent Digital and look forward to forging a successful relationship together, as Ryanair continues to grow across Europe," he claimed.
