A leading accountancy firm is urging businesses to take a consumer approach to professional services, especially in the current financial climate. Adams Moore, a Tamworth accountants and business adviser firm, says despite the willingness to search the best service and deals on requirements such as utilities, office equipment and stationery, when it comes to professional services like accountancy, businesses often let loyalty overshadow common sense - with many people sticking with an accountant despite being unhappy with the service.

The UK is recognised for its service industry, so, according to Adams Moore, there’s never been a better time to seek out the best business services, rather than put up with a sub-standard or lack-lustre offering.

Martin Crook, partner at Adams Moore, an accountancy and business adviser firm, says: “I have lost count of the times I have heard business owners moan about their accountants, but when I suggest they switch accountants look for a better service, they often reply that they’ve been with them for years and feel they can’t switch! I think it’s crazy that some businesses would put loyalty before their own business requirements, but even worse, it could really be hindering their business development and growth.
