Publisher HarperCollins has announced the appointment of a new Sales Director, Brigid Nelson joins the business after spending 10 years with rival Penguin and will start the roll in the new year.
Nelson will report into HarperCollins group sales director Oliver Wright, she most recently was children's product director at Penguin Children's Books, with responsibility of the Puffin, Ladybird, Sunbird, BBC Children's and Frederick Warne imprints.
Wright said: "We are absolutely delighted to have Brigid joining our team. We couldn't have wished for a better candidate to fill this role. She will bring a wealth of experience to our list as well as her passion to work with our fantastic authors and build on the success of our number one bestsellers this autumn."
Nelson added: "I've had such a fantastic 10 years at Penguin with the books and the people but now seems a perfect time to bow out and move on. I always loved the HarperCollins Children's list when I was a bookseller . . . The children's market is such an opportunity for all of us and I'm very much looking forward to the ten years ahead."
