The UK’s largest Sales Training & Development day has once again passed successfully sending the hundreds of delegates back to work full of the industry’s latest news and training.

If you weren’t able to attend the National Sales Conference (NSC) 2016, the UK’s premier sales event, held at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena on 6 October, sponsored by Avention and supported by the IoD, ISM and the APS, here’s what you missed:

Not only have you missed out on a stellar group of speakers but also the unique breakout sessions and the distinctive networking opportunities that arise as a result of the best salespeople from around the country converging in one place. The day’s proceedings were kicked off with host Jon Bradshaw running the crowd through social experiments designed to increase the happiness in the room, a bright and energetic start. What followed was a list of respected speakers starting with Maggie Buggie of Capgemini speaking on digital sales skills, Rugby World Cup winner Will Greenwood was up next with an engaging speech on the parallels between the world of sport and sales. David Rutherford of EY also spoke; the day’s stand out presenter was undoubtedly Lord Digby Jones who closed the show with a rousing talk on the importance of Sales and sales people to the British economy, sending those in the room home full of inspiration and desire to succeed.

In addition to the main stage speakers delegates were also treated to a number of breakout sessions by the likes of Grant LeBoff, Sir Trevor Soar, Chris Bindley and Brian Hall; these interactive sessions providing new ideas, solutions and entertainment for those in the room.

The reputation of the conference was clearly demonstrated on the day where the official Twitter hashtag #SalesExpo was at one point the 2nd highest trend within the UK.

Running alongside the National Sales Conference was, as always, the Sales, Learning and Development Conference, the only event in the UK dedicated to the Learning and Development functions in charge of Sales teams. Visitors to this event heard from James Woodward of Virgin Media, Phil Anderson of Calor Gas and Robert Racine of Wipro among others. Taking away new perspectives and ideas on how to tailor and improve their own training methods.

Work has already started on preparations for next year’s event with GoldVision signing up as the official CRM partner. As each year passes the conference can only grow, learning from previous years and ever expanding its calibre of speakers and the selection of exhibitors that display on the exhibition floor.

If you attended the event this year you’ll be pleased to hear that tickets for the 2017 event are currently available at an early bird discount of £195+VAT up to 23rd December, and if you missed out on this years’ conference – be sure to visit next year!
