Company Cars.

Your very erudite and intereting article on the usefulness of company cars overlooked one small point. Any salesperson who relies exclusively on communicating via media, except in a very narrow field of activity, will soon find themselves out of work because of abject failure. The sad fact is, all successful sales people need to know their customers by sight AND if they have bad breath or not because face to face is still an essential factor in long term sales relationships.

Re: Company Cars.

Couldn't agree with you more Don, I think the key is to be able to use all forms of communication, and also negate the need to meet up face to face at every opportunity. Once introduced, using video conferencing can be a great way to stay in contact and give the personal touch, a step up from conference calls.
